We had our master bathroom remodeled in June 2021. We had been searching for a contractor to complete this project for us, and a friend recommended Darren Ahlf (Ahlf Construction and Remodel LLC). In our friend’s words “Darren is honest and fair, and I think you would like working with him”. This proved to be the case; Darren met with us, looked over our plans and came back with a reasonable bid and a start date. He started when he said he would and was completely honest with us.

One of the things we appreciated most about working with Darren was the way he included us in “on-the-spot” decisions. As remodels sometimes go, there were adjustments that had to be made once construction started. Never once did Darren proceed without first including us in a discussion of alternatives, sharing his opinion when asked but always leaving the final decision to us. This project involved a lot of tile work, which he is excellent at. He also helped tile a new fireplace that had just been installed.

It took a little longer to complete the project than Darren had originally projected; this was not due to a lack of attention on Darren’s part, but rather waiting for supplies or subcontractors. We had several subcontractors comment that they appreciated working with Darren because he did the pre-work necessary for them to complete their work quickly. Darren had other projects going on at the same time as ours, but he made us his priority and we truly appreciated his commitment to creating a master bathroom that we would enjoy for years to come. He succeeded! We would not hesitate to contact Darren in the future should we have the need for a general contractor.
